Privacy policy
Your files stay on your Mac.

What stays on your Mac
cleno scans files locally on the Mac. No file list, file name, path or file contents ever leave the Mac.
There are no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting.
The only network calls: licensing
The only network calls cleno makes are for licensing, to Dodo Payments' license endpoints, in 3 situations:
- Activating a key.
- Checking it: at most about once a week when online, or when you press Check Now.
- Deactivating a Mac.
What each licensing request contains
- The license key.
- An activation name made of the text “Cleno on macOS” plus the first characters of a random install identifier. Not a hardware serial, user name or computer name.
- For check and deactivate: the server-assigned instance id.
What comes back
Dodo's activation response includes the purchaser's email and product name. cleno stores them in the macOS Keychain to show in Settings › License.
What cleno stores locally
In the app's preferences:
- Settings.
- Exclusions (paths only).
- Storage category sizes and largest items (paths and sizes).
- Free-space readings.
- Cleanup history (dates, sizes, counts; no file names).
What cleno stores in the Keychain
- License key.
- Instance id.
- Activation and last-check dates.
- Purchaser email.
- Random install identifier.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Payment details are handled by Dodo and never by cleno or this website.
